  • Factoid: I loved the idea of this song. John Chapman traveled across the United States for 49 years planting apple trees and was dubbed Johnny Appleseed. He was never sick until he died and loved reading the Bible. What about a parallel character named Johnny Gumball who planted gumball trees? The idea for a song was great. The problem was, though, that few today know of Johnny Appleseed and the genius of my idea fell on the ignorant masses. Alas! I still like the song, but this rendition is other than excellent. I'm thinking of rewriting the lyrics and calling the song Johnny Baptist.

  • Factoid: Loren Greene played Ben Cartwright on the television show Bonanza. He did a record called Ringo. My song about Durango is better. Loren Greene sings better than me though. He was backed by professional musicians. I was backed by the All Bob Band the members of which were not having a good day.
